Customer services are available by phone 0800 0246299 Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, excluding Bank Holidays in England and Wales.

It is advisable to print and keep a copy of these terms and conditions for your records. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Definitions

"Personal data" shall have the meaning set out in the Data Protection Act 1998.

"Service(s)" means the first aid course(s) offered by St David’s First Aid Training Ltd.

"We/us" means St David’s First Aid Training Ltd (a body incorporated and registered in England and Wales (10215402) with Companies House whose registered office is at MKM House, Fowey Cross, Lostwithiel PL22 0JG.

"Website" means www.stdavidsfirstaid.co.uk or any subsequent URL which may replace it.

"You" means the purchaser of services from St David’s First Aid Training Ltd.

Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking on this website.

Cancellation or rescheduling of courses by us

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any of our courses. Where it is necessary to cancel or reschedule any courses, you will be informed at the first available opportunity and delegates will be rescheduled as a priority to the next available course(s). We do not accept any responsibility for certificates expiring as a result of a cancelled course.

Company cancellations by you

If you are booking as a company, the full course fee will be charged for cancellations made fewer than 5 clear working days before the course start date. Cancellations can be received either by phone 0800 0246299 or email info@stdavidsfirstaid.co.uk

Consumer cancellations by you

If you are booking as an individual, you can cancel the course at any time before the start of the course. If you have fully or partially attended a course the following will apply:

  • If we have fully supplied the first aid course, you will lose your right to cancel and not be entitled to any refund of the fees.
  • If we have supplied part of the course, you can cancel the remaining part(s) of the course(s), but will be liable for the supply of all service(s) we have provided to you up until the time we receive notice of your intention to cancel. This will be calculated as an amount proportional to the services that have been supplied, taking into account the total cost of the course.

Transfer to an alternative date by you

You may transfer a delegate to an alternative date once without incurring a cost, provided that we receive this request at least 5 clear working days before the course start date. If you book a course less than 5 clear working days before the course start date, you will not be able to make a transfer.

In the event of the delegates’ illness, if you provide us with a medical certificate as proof, we will arrange a transfer free of charge. Transfer requests can be received either by phone 0800 0246299 or email info@stdavidsfirstaid.co.uk

Course substitutions

Substitutions of alternative delegates will be accepted provided that the request is received at least two clear working day before the course start date either by phone 0800 0246299 or email info@stdavidsfirstaid.co.uk

Course prices

All our prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate. The VAT registration number for St David’s First Aid Training Ltd is 248221222.

Course timing and joining instructions

We will issue joining instructions to the person booking the course, for delegates attending the course. Joining instructions includes information regarding the start time of the course. If the person booking the course does not receive the joining instructions, it is their responsibility to contact us either by phone 0800 0246299 or email info@stdavidsfirstaid.co.uk to arrange for them to be re-sent.

Failure to attend the course due to not receiving joining instructions will result in the full cost of the course being charged. It is the responsibility of the person booking the course to ensure that delegate(s) are fully briefed and made aware of these joining instructions and all course requirements before attending the course.

Good time keeping throughout the course is essential.

Attendance

Delegates must attend and complete all aspects of the course to qualify for certification. The full cost of the course could be charged for delegates who are late or are absent from part or all of the course.

Delegate selection

It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure that selected delegates are:

  • Able to provide others with first aid, as the duties of a first aider can be physically demanding. For example, delegates should be able to kneel on the floor and administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In line with the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Approved Code of Practice, delegates must be free from any condition that will affect their participation in the course and their capability to carry out the duties of a first aider.
  • Reliable, with the necessary disposition and communication skills.
  • Able to cope with potentially stressful emergency procedures.
  • Easily reachable in the event of an emergency in the workplace.
  • 16 years of age and above.

Delegates who are unable to meet the above requirements or do not meet the pre-set assessment criteria for the course will not be awarded a certificate and consequently be unable to act as first aiders within the workplace.

Meeting delegates’ needs

We have an Equal Opportunities Policy. To allow us to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and their requirements are fully met, you must advise us in advance of any special requirements that your delegate(s) need in order to enable them to participate fully in the training.

We do not provide any specialist equipment and/or personnel such as signers or translators but these can be sourced at your own cost.

Course re-certification

It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that all delegates attending a first aid at work requalification course hold proof of a current (in date or within a month of expiry) first aid at work certificate which is valid for the duration of the requalification course being attended. It is the responsibility of the employer to provide a copy of the certificate at the time of booking.

Limitation of liability

Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, we shall not be liable by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent) or implied warranty condition or other term, or any duty at common law or under the express terms of this agreement, for any loss of profit or any indirect special or consequential loss, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation. Our entire liability to you under or in connection with this agreement and the provision of the first aid training shall not exceed the sum of twice the contract value. Nothing in this paragraph is intended to exclude any liability on our part for fraud.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions and all matters connected with any order you place on our website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and you irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
